    In this workshop, Gary will explore the many ways a singer can help pave the way for clear, effective, and enjoyable partnership with collaborative pianists. From everyday lessons to rehearsals, auditions to recitals, Gary will outline the best practices to ensure that your collaboration is a joyous one.

    Gary Skye is a pianist, composer, teacher, and wellness specialist who helps musicians learn healthy body usage. He received his masters in piano performance from Portland State University and is a frequent collaborator with NATS singers and area performers. Gary has accompanied numerous NATS NSA winners at the national finals and has held positions as staff accompanist at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Sonoma State University, and the Interlochen Center for the Arts. www.garyskye.com

    When embarking on their career journey, a singer must make a multitude of choices around the question of “Is this (fill-in-the-blank) good for me?” In this Q&A session, soprano Meredith Hansen will help singers identify the green flags and red flags to look out for when vetting potential professional engagements.

    Meredith Hansen is a prolific New England-based performer who has sung all over the world, including engagements with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and The Metropolitan Opera. She is currently represented by Athlone Artists. www.meredithhansen.com
